Two weeks before
Decide what is going and what is not. Book your van early and send us your list of main items and the access at both ends. Arrange parking permits or a bay if you need one.
The week before
- Pack non-essentials first and label every box by room
- Keep boxes small enough to lift safely
- Take pictures of how electronics are plugged in
- Measure large furniture against doors and stairs at the new address
The day before
Defrost and drain the fridge-freezer and washing machine. Disassemble furniture you are able to, and keep the screws in a labelled bag. Charge your phone and set aside an essentials box with kettle, chargers, toiletries and documents.
Moving day
Be there when the driver arrives, and walk them through what is going first. Keep valuables and documents with you. Check the empty rooms before the van leaves. At the new address, check your items on delivery and tell us about any damage as soon as possible.
